Creamed Cabbage with Mustard

The search for the ultimate roast package continues. This was a perfect accompaniment to pork wellington which also has a mustard element. Will 100% be adding into rotation as I love cabbage but it can be bland.


 

Ingredients

 

  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped into 2cm slices

  • 300ml single cream

  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • Salt and pepper

 

Method

 

  1. Add the oil and chopped cabbage to a large pan.

  2. Season with salt and pepper and fry over a medium/low heat, covered for around 10 min, stirring occasionally.

  3. Pour the cream, wholegrain mustard, garlic and onion powder into the pan.

  4. Stir to combine and continue to cook for another 4 mins, or until the cream has thickened to coat the cabbage.

  5. Season with salt and lots of black pepper.
