Million Dollar Rigatoni

A really easy cheat's version of Million Dollar Spaghetti using jars. We can't always be making things from scratch or spending a month's salary on cheese. Still very delicious.

Once again I forgot to take a picture after cooking but will replace next time I make it.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack mild Italian sausage, casing removed

  • 500g rigatoni

  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce (I used mac & cheese sauce as the closest I could find)

  • 1 jar tomato basil pasta sauce

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion

  • 225g shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Grated Parmesan cheese

  • Dried parsley (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Cook the pasta until al dente and drain well.

  3. Cook the sausage until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.

  4. Add the dried minced onion and garlic.

  5. Add the tomato basil sauce and simmer gently.

  6. While still hot, add the rigatoni to a baking dish and mix with the Alfredo sauce.

  7. Spoon the meat sauce evenly over the pasta without mixing it through.

  8. Top with the mozzarella, then finish with Parmesan and a sprinkle of dried parsley.

  9. Cover with foil and bake for 15–20 mins, until hot and bubbly.
